Let’s talk unique coffee tables for a second! Just like how rugs pull the room together when it comes to colors and patterns, the coffee table is typically the centerpiece of the space that pulls the furniture together.
Finding that unique and functional coffee table can be a hard task- you can search thousands of pages online and still not feel confidant that you got the right one for your space. So I’ve cut out some of your search time and compiled a list of my top 10 designer-curated coffee tables.

Your room and the furniture you have in it is unique. You have sofas, chairs, side tables and other pieces in your home already and you need to find the coffee table that works best for the flow of your space. So let’s explore a couple of design flow ideas that can work for your house.

Sofa Configuration:
Do you have a sofa or two? Are they facing each other or creating an L shape in your space? Here’s what shapes I suggest for these configurations.
The best coffee table for this type of configuration is a rectangle or an oval for these pieces. You can also do two smaller size ottomans or coffee tables side by side to create the rectangle shape. This helps maximize your central common area for the coffee table and optimize flow around the room.
Sectional Configuration:
Do you have an L or U shape sectional? These are the most ideal coffee table shapes for your space.
The best coffee table shape for an L shape sectional is a round shape for flow around the room. If one side of the sectional is longer- for example, a 3 seater sofa with a chaise, then you may be able to use a rectangular coffee table.
If space allows, a U shape sectional can also take a round coffee table- if there is at least 18” between each seat from the coffee table. Alternatively, a square coffee table or ottoman fits perfectly in a U shape sectional.
